Ocean Ambassadors mourns the loss of Dr Ruth Gates and her work in collaboration with Professor Madeleine van Oppen on coral.
She was a renowned marine biologist who made it her life’s work to save the world’s fragile coral reefs.
True to the OA ethos she said: "There are many, many unknowns, but I feel that we're at this point where we need to throw caution to the wind and just try it."
